Googlebook: $899 for a Laptop Whose Best Feature Is a Screen You Will Replace
Google's $899 Acer Googlebook 14 has solid specs and a 2880 x 1800 OLED, but the AI label does little for a laptop that cannot run the strongest models locally.

Reviews & buying advice
I have been pulling PCs apart since I was a kid. My father stretched a budget we did not really have to buy one when I was five, because he was convinced the future was in there. He was right. I spent years repairing machines, wiring LANs and installing CCTV, and I still spend around eight hours a day in front of a screen.
I do not care what a product looks like. I care whether it does the job, and whether the new version quietly dropped something useful in order to get thinner. I keep hardware for years (my phone lasted five before it needed its first repair), and I would rather pay once for something that works than twice for something that photographs well.
I lose entire weekends to Factorio. If a thing can be automated, I will automate it, and that is roughly how I look at hardware as well: does it do the work, or does it only look like it does?
If I recommend something here, it is because I checked it, not because the spec sheet was impressive. If I get it wrong, I will say so in the open.
