AirPods Pro 3 Are $179 at Amazon: Great Earbuds, and a Deal Is Always Welcome

At $179, the AirPods Pro 3 are an easy deal to like. They are great earbuds, and a discount on them is always appreciated.

Amazon is selling the AirPods Pro 3 for $179 instead of $249, which is $70 off. It is part of Amazon’s fall Prime Day sale, which started early, and 9to5Mac says the price has been seen only once before. The source does not give an end date. The sale lands just weeks after Apple added new features through a software update, including a custom equalizer and better adaptive audio controls.

I need to correct my own first reaction. I read this as a permanent price drop and took it as proof that $249 was never the real price. It is a temporary retailer sale, and that changes the argument. A sale tells you what a store is willing to charge for a few days, not what Apple thinks the product is worth. The quality was never in question. These are very good earbuds, and nobody has to convince me of that.

One number worth keeping next to the deal: at $179 they are only $30 more than the new AirPods 5 with the wireless charging case, at $149. I have not tested either one, so I cannot tell you whether the extra $30 is worth it. Compare the two before you pay.
