The iPhone Duo costs $800 more than the iPhone 18 Pro. 9to5Mac put the two side by side, and the table below shows what that money buys and what it gives up.

The Duo is ahead on battery with the outer screen on, and it adds a large folding display. The 18 Pro is ahead on camera, with a variable aperture main camera and a telephoto that the Duo lacks. It is also lighter, cheaper and on sale now.

My take: every time Apple launches a product, people expect it to innovate and to beat the one before. A folding phone is interesting and eye-catching. But most Apple phones have always had a great camera, and here the camera is a step back.

I am not going to give a firm opinion on this phone yet. I want a real review that shows the good and the bad points. For now, read the table and draw your own conclusions.
